Cricket Alcorn Wins Silver Medal Award!
CRICKET ALCORN RECEIVES LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FROM THE AMERICAN ADVERTISING FEDERATION (AAF) – COASTAL CAROLINAS
Silver Medal Award Recognizes Creative Excellence And Social Concern
Cricket Alcorn, communications specialist for Horry Telephone Cooperative (HTC), received the Silver Medal Award from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) – Coastal Carolinas. The award was presented on March 21, 2013, at The Dunes Golf & Beach Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Alcorn was selected by a jury of former Silver Medal Award winners because of her accomplishments with HTC, her outstanding contributions to creative excellence and furthering advertising industry standards, as well as demonstrating responsibility in areas of social concern.
For over 14 years, Alcorn has been the liaison between HTC and the community in Myrtle Beach. Because of her willingness to try new technology, HTC was one of the first local companies to try new mediums and techniques. She has successfully implemented the use of text messaging contests, pay-per-click search ads, Facebook giveaways, digital billboards and QR codes to promote HTC. She has also created an uncommon bond between HTC and local events such as, Coastal Uncorked, Murrells Inlet Oyster Roast and Socastee Heritage Festival.
Additionally, Alcorn has played a vital role in several local associations beyond advertising. She has been involved with United Way, American Red Cross, Kids Voting and Murrells Inlet 2020.
