AAF-CC | AAF District 3 Minority Internship Program

The Third District Diversity Program is designed to change lives. This program which targets kids between 7th and 10th grade seeks to fulfill two goals. The first is to simply engage and excite all students about the amazing careers found in advertising. The second is to offer minority students a chance to take a peek inside the industry with our Minority Intern Scholarship.

Developed by AAF District 3 and Bassett Printing, the Minority Internship Program will award one local minority student per year an internship that introduces him or her to the myriad job opportunities in our field and a small scholarship fund.

During the first week, students will find themselves in a new environment each day. They might get to see firsthand how a TV station, a newspaper, an advertising agency, a radio station, or a print shop operates. From these experiences, a student will choose one (or perhaps two) industries to pursue further for an additional week, delving deeper and learning more about a chosen field.

Our Diversity Chair will distribute applications to guidance counselors throughout Florence, Georgetown, Myrtle Beach, Brunswick and Wilmington. The application and parent consent form can also be downloaded from this web site. The Internship Program is open to students in grades 7-11 who attend school in the greater Florence, Georgetown, Myrtle Beach (SC), Brunswick and Wilmington (NC) areas.
